Summer cruising in the Caribbean

Summer in the Caribbean is my favorite time of the year as a resident. One really gets to see the laid back lifestyle that the islands are known for. Beaches are quiet, cruise ships are gone and the nights are sultry. However, if you are looking for parties and excitement, summer is the time that many islands offer up carnival, music festivals and other events one should experience in his or her lifetime.
Summer cruising in the Caribbean is a great way to see these events which can attract thousands of locals and visitors. To combine the best of both, a little partying with a little chillin’ why not charter your own boat and treat it like a floating hotel. You can anchor offshore to listen to music or move to a secluded cove for some tranquility. Check out these popular island destinations and their celebrations for August – Grenanda Carnival, Jamaica Reggae Sumfest and the BVI August Festival.
