Motor Yacht Audacia now in the Caribbean

I was on board the lovely Feadship Audacia yesterday on the dock at Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas. WOW! is what popped out of my mouth. In a very intense refit this past summer in Italy, Audacia's new owners had her completely renovated & she now sports a combination of modern decor with beautiful woodwork. From the amazing bridge deck complete with jacuzzi and dining and entertainment areas, to the 6 comfortable staterooms (Master & VIP Cabins are kings!), Audacia is in tip top shape.

Captain Rafael & his crew of eight are set to receive guests -- in the Caribbean through March and then to the Mediterranean for a busy summer season. With a rate for up to 12 guests of $190,000 US Dollars plus expenses, Audacia is a great value too.

Last minute vacation plans

This weekend was anything but low key! Potential clients from around the world decided that now was the time to arrance a last minute vacation in the warm weather of the Caribbean. We are always happy to get these calls, although there might be a few compromises needed by clients. You may find just the yacht you want but have to move your dates back by a day to accomodate their open schedule. Or you may need to meet them in a different port as they are already committed to finish a trip in St. Maarten or Tortola.

Whatever the case, there are a lot of options even for those of you how forgot to make plans for a winter getway!

High End Luxury -- Cannes Film Festival Yacht Charter

There is nothing more glamorous these days then a red carpet event. Cannes Film Festival is renowned for its glitz & glamour. Those in the know charter a mega yacht to be front row on the dock right in the middle of the action.

May 17-25 are the dates of the Festival in 2008 and we are in the finishing stages of booking these super larger, super luxurious yachts for the event. Soon space on the key will be full, although a number of visitors preferring privacy and security will always choose to stay at anchor away from prying eyes.

For corporate entertaining a select group or just to have fun being at the Festival, a private yacht charter is the way to go. Not for the faint of heart, prices are in Euros and dockage is scarce & expensive -- but worth the price in service & style!

La Dolce Vita -- the sweet life

The Irwin 52 La Dolce Vita rejoined the charter fleet last year with new owner operators Greg & Lana Hughes on board. This team from the Georgia/Tennessee area bring lots of Southern charm to La Dolce Vita and their guests. Keeping a trip easy and loose is important for guests whose lives have programmed them to keep the pace fast & furious. Greg & Lana aim to get clients to slow down and appreciate that while on charter at least, they can relax, be impulsive, change the itinerary -- there does not have to be a 'program'.

How nice not to have to worry about being late for a lunch appointment -- or how about indulging in an afternoon siesta while sailing downwind with soft Caribbean breezes keeping you cool?

La Dolce Vita is the way to indulge yourself! http://www.viewyacht.com/ladolcevita/ take a look for yourself!

After the holidays!

Charter yachts around the Caribbean found their favorite spots to celebrate the holidays -- like anchoring in Christmas Cove at Little St. James off the coast of St. Thomas or pulling into Trellis Bay off Tortola for the Dancing Fire Man in the water on New Years -- a huge scuplture that is mounted at water level in the bay -- when filled with wood & set alight it's figures appear to be dancing on the water.

Families spent time fishing together or jumping off the trampoline at the front of a catamaran and swimming underneath the boat shouting 'look at me Mom!" . While couples reconnected sitting under the visible Milky Way talking about life and the universe -- and return to the 'real world' restored.

Yacht charter vacationsdon't cure all the worlds ills, but they often do restore babalnce to those fortunate to take them -- reconnecting with our earth, enjoing the basic pleasures of the sun on your skin or the miracle of clear blue water and all those pretty fish.

Here is wishing all a special yacht charter in the coming year and a healthy & prosperous 2008!
