Antigua for viewing Mega Yachts

Off to Antigua next week to view th 90+ yachts that have arrived from all corners of the globe. Large sailing yachts, mega power yachts over 100' and some terrific catamarans. There is nothing better than seeing first hand the condition of the yachts and spending time with the crew that run them.

The only down side is the absolutley wonderful food that is offered by the chefs -- the week teems with breakfast, lunch & cocktails as these yacht put their best foot forward to show how they pamper their guests.

My job is to make sure they are up to it!

Charter menus

I have been amazed how charter chefs on quite small yachts can produce fine dining for their guests. Plus they put a lot of thought & attention into diets in planning their menus. Although the menu is ‘family style’ in that everyone does not order something different all sorts of restrictions can be accommodated. Charter chefs are masters of being able to produce wonderful for that a vegetarian loves with tender filets that keep the rest of the group satisfied. Low Carbs? Atkins? South Beach No problem for these charter yacht wizards!

BVI Charter Show

Everyone here is gearing up for the annual charter yacht show held at Village Cay Marina on Tortola. This is where brokers come to inspect the yachts, meet the crew and form opinions on what to recommend to their clients. So the level of frantic energy is high as boats look for the new linens they ordered months ago in between finishing off that last coat of glossy varnish. Can’t wait to hit the docks tomorrow to see all these shiny charter yachts!!!

We are thankful for all the wonderful yachts and crews who work so hard on our charter yachts and the clients who return to this very special vacation.

This morning I sat on the beach watching a rainbow arch across the horizon after my swim and decided there is much in this life to be thankful for — beautiful weather, clear Caribbean waters, plus the terrific friends you make working in the charter yacht industry. I am truly blessed — and I say thank you to you all!
